About the position

The Supervisory Human Resources Specialist serves as a key advisor and consultant to senior management within the Department of Defense, focusing on federal civilian human resources management. This role involves overseeing staffing, classification, and employee relations, ensuring compliance with HR policies, and enhancing operational productivity and quality. The position requires a strong background in HR practices and the ability to interpret complex regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide expert advice on federal civilian HR management to top agency officials.
  • Monitor recruitment, classification, and processing actions to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Analyze audit reports to develop plans for improving office operations and productivity.
  • Interpret and clarify federal HR policies and procedures regarding staffing and employee relations.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in federal service or related fields.
  • Experience providing technical guidance on federal civilian HR services.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate HR policies and procedures to meet organizational metrics.
  • Experience in staffing, processing, classification, and labor relations.

Nice-to-haves
