About the position

The position involves partnering with the Supply Chain leadership team to enhance safety, environmental, and asset protection initiatives, fostering a culture of health and safety throughout the facility. The role includes planning and conducting audits, inspections, and walkthroughs to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations from OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Additionally, the position requires managing third-party security services and ensuring adherence to Lowe’s Security programs. The individual will lead safety and shrink mitigation efforts, support operational activities, manage incident reporting, and serve as the main point of contact for regulatory inquiries. The role also involves analyzing incident trends, leading program enhancements, building training content, and ensuring proper hazardous material disposal. The candidate will participate in system design planning to reduce injury risks and investigate internal theft cases, providing leadership during investigations and establishing frameworks for safety and shrink data.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Supply Chain leadership to drive a culture of health and safety.
  • Plan and conduct audits, inspections, and walkthroughs for compliance.
  • Manage third-party security guard services and asset protection equipment.
  • Ensure execution of Lowe’s Security programs and adherence to policies.
  • Lead safety, shrink mitigation, investigations, and environmental health initiatives.
  • Support facility leadership in optimizing operational activities.
  • Manage internal incident reporting and root cause analysis.
  • Negotiate and respond to regulatory inquiries on behalf of the company.
  • Analyze incident trends and worker’s compensation claim metrics.
  • Serve as project lead on program enhancements for the supply chain.
  • Participate in peer work teams to drive risk reduction strategies.
  • Build training content for emergency management and safety.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to validate compliance.
  • Participate in system design planning to reduce injury risks.
  • Identify and investigate opportunities for internal theft.
  • Provide leadership for internal theft investigations.
  • Establish framework for safety and shrink data management.
  • Consult during new building stand-up or conversion phases.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Safety Science, Industrial Health, Risk Management, Engineering, Business or related field.
  • 5 years of retail safety experience in Distribution or retail stores.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 years’ experience with a mass retailer or multi-location employer.
  • 1-2 years of warehouse or distribution center experience.
  • CSP, ASP, WSO, ARM Certification.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Hour certification.
