About the position

The Supply Chain Manager will support Aircraft Material for the Maintenance & Engineering Material Management team at Alaska Airlines. This role is a subject matter expert in all phases of strategic sourcing projects and supplier performance activities for Alaska Air Group. As an individual contributor, the Supply Chain Manager defines the long-term strategy for supply chain management and exercises considerable latitude and initiative to make decisions in project assessment, strategy development, supplier evaluation, and negotiation of terms to meet quality, cost, and performance targets. The position is responsible for developing and overseeing relationships with internal customers and vendors to ensure company and divisional objectives are met. This Manager is a key stakeholder and decision-maker for all sourcing projects and supplier performance management for the Alaska Air Group fleets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the sourcing process for AAG's Sourcing projects, including project assessment, strategy development, supplier evaluation and selection, and negotiation of terms.
• Perform project manager duties for sourcing projects, including development of standard project documents (timeline, budget, scope).
• Support Supply Chain Director and business owners to develop long-range sourcing strategies.
• Leverage expert knowledge in negotiations and contracting to achieve adherence to performance objectives and reduced unit costs.
• Manage contract management to ensure all relevant contracts are organized and accessible.
• Develop supplier performance management language and business review materials.
• Develop and maintain relationships with commercial and operational division partners.
• Partner with procurement to support post-sourcing project purchase orders.
• Influence across divisions to build cross-divisional consensus.
• Collaborate with financial, planning & analysis team to support divisional budgets and financial analysis.

Requirements

• 7 years of experience in supply chain, project or program management, or related area.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related area, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills including financial analysis and spend management planning.
• Ability to build influence across departments around company strategies.
• Proven track record of developing and sustaining strong customer and supplier relationships.
• Negotiation and contract management experience.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings and developing and delivering presentations.
• Demonstrated experience with technology strategic sourcing processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other supply chain professional certification.
• Demonstrated change management skills and the ability to challenge the status quo.
• Experience negotiating high-value contracts, specifically maintenance service and/or support agreements.
• Experience working with aircraft maintenance service providers.
• Experience with financial analysis of complex vendor proposals.
