The Supply Chain Risk Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Supply Chain Risk Manager by analyzing and measuring the performance of National Grid's supply chain. This position will provide insights to Global Procurement Leadership and Category Teams, especially as National Grid leads the charge towards a Net Zero future in the UK and Northeast USA. With a significant investment of over £60bn planned over the next five years, this role is pivotal in navigating the unprecedented challenges our supply chains face. The Supply Chain Risk Specialist will help ensure that our procurement strategies align with our Net Zero goals, making this an exciting time for our industry and for National Grid. In this position, you will provide current and predictive insights on category, supplier, and market risk, driving deeper knowledge and understanding to enable continuous improvement. You will engage with key stakeholders to support category strategies, engineer solutions that leverage existing tools, and provide regular reporting on supply chain risks and market insights. Your work will enhance the global view of National Grid's critical supply chain performance, identifying risks and opportunities to reach strategic goals. You will also manage real-time supply chain risk transparencies, offering active counter-measure options to support procurement effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Support the Supply Chain Risk Manager in analyzing and measuring supply chain performance.
• Provide insights to Global Procurement Leadership and Category Teams regarding supply chain risks.
• Engage with key stakeholders to understand and support category strategies.
• Engineer solutions that leverage existing tools and propose new opportunities for transparency in the supply chain.
• Provide regular reporting and insights to supplier relationship managers and global procurement leadership.
• Drive insights from internal and external data to develop improved processes for category intelligence.
• Enhance the global view of National Grid's critical supply chain performance.
• Implement performance data analysis to support continuous improvement measures.
• Manage real-time supply chain risk transparencies and counter-measure options.

Requirements

• Ability to build relationships at all levels across the business, including influencing senior management stakeholders.
• Experience as a global market analyst with the ability to prepare insightful presentations.
• Proven experience in developing and managing information intelligence processes.
• Background in supply chain management, global sourcing, and market trending.
• Motivated self-starter with a strong understanding of market analysis and ERP systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with 3rd party software and data normalization.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite and data analysis tools.
