About the position

The Supply Chain Specialist at Avantor is responsible for optimizing supply chain operations within the Masterflex organization. This full-time position, based in Valencia, CA, involves executing purchase orders, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring inventory strategies align with customer demands. The role requires collaboration across various departments to enhance operational responsiveness and maintain critical supply chain data.

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchase orders to meet replenishment plans and customer demand variations.
  • Nurture working relationships with vendors to ensure superb delivery performance.
  • Implement replenishment plans by placing economical purchase orders based on lead time and discount schedules.
  • Work with planning and Operations managers to support customer requests.
  • Support and maintain vendor relationships and resolve issues related to delivery performance and logistics.
  • Provide feedback on critical vendors to ensure compliance with performance commitments.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory Manager to meet days of supply goals and reduce excess inventory.
  • Maintain critical supply chain data to support forecasting and product planning.
  • Communicate with various departments regarding product availability and delivery schedules.
  • Establish and deploy best practices for inventory planning and business strategies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One or more years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and intranet collaboration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in an ERP system, preferably Epicor.
  • Spanish speaking ability.
  • Experience reconciling invoices.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (cGMP, ISO, or FDA).
