About the position

The Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing Specialist plays a vital role in managing supplier relationships and driving cost savings within the medical device industry. This position involves both strategic and tactical responsibilities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing management of the supply base throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse supplier portfolio and all commodities supported by this supply base
• Manage cost of goods sold
• Use analytics to track price variance and develop a strategy
• Identify, dive, and achieve material cost savings
• Control price increases
• Negotiate contracts to ensure compliance and operational excellence
• Support sourcing and material procurement for product development
• Provide input for material dispositions related to ECOs
• Assess product lifecycle and work with cross-functional teams to develop next-generation offerings
• Report supplier metrics and take action as needed to support continuous improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of work/education experience in lieu of degree
• 3-5 years of category management experience required
• Track record of year over year cost savings (COGS impact)
• Experience in a highly regulated industry required (Med device strongly preferred)
• Experience with contract negotiations
• Strong technical abilities, using mainly Microsoft Office products
• Comfort with public speaking and providing presentations to executive leadership
