About The Position

The Physician Assistant will join the inpatient OBGYN Physician Assistants Group at ChristianaCare, providing comprehensive care in the OB/GYN Services department. This full-time position involves working day and evening shifts, with weekend rounding and call requirements. The role focuses on patient care at Wilmington Hospital and primary care sites, emphasizing a partnership with patients and their families to deliver effective and affordable healthcare.

Requirements

• Licensure or license eligible for Delaware
• NCCPA Certification
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications
• OBIS training for EFM
• Experience in OB/GYN procedures

Responsibilities

• Admit patients on behalf of the supervising physician
• Complete history and physicals
• Develop treatment plans
• Make rounds at the direction of the supervising physician
• Record progress notes
• Order, assess, and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities
• Initiate referrals to appropriate healthcare professionals
• Instruct, educate, and counsel patients and families regarding health status and discharge planning
• Obtain consents for procedures for which privileges are held
• Perform core duties such as IV placement, blood draws, injections, dressing changes, and OB/GYN procedures
• Assist in surgeries including laparoscopic, open procedures, and cesarean sections.
