About the position

Operational Risk Management (ORM) – Data Risk is part of Citi’s second line of defense (2LoD). Our mission is to drive comprehensive and consistent practices designed to identify, measure, monitor, report and manage operational risks while promoting the implementation of actions to address root causes which may lead to unintended operational losses. ORM-Data Risk consists of experienced professionals who apply subject matter expertise to objectively evaluate, independently oversee, and constructively challenge first line of defense (1LoD) teams, governance, processes and controls. The role holder is a strategic professional who will be responsible for overseeing the Book of Work and Quality Assurance of Independent Challenge, Testing & Monitoring routines undertaken by the ORM-Data Risk team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the ORM-Data Risk Book of Work.
  • Establishes and oversees the execution of Data Risk Independent Assurance quality assurance efforts for the ORM-Data Risk team.
  • Responsible for the Book of Work governance processes such as annual planning and change management efforts.
  • Responsible for coordinating and managing stakeholder engagements between ORM-Data Risk and other risk stripes within ORM.
  • Responsible for providing Book of Work management reporting to the ORM-Data Risk Management Team and the Central ORM Independent Assurance Team.
  • Responsible for providing Independent Assurance leadership and coaching efforts to the ORM-Data Risk team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years relevant experience in a global financial institution required.
  • Experienced in Operational Risk.
  • Knowledge of other risk disciplines (market risk, credit risk) a plus.
  • Prioritizes high impact potential problems effectively.
  • Proficient in developing new ideas to mitigate risk and improve current processes.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in supporting engagements with regulators.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills in a complex, diverse environment.
  • Hands-on management reporting skills, including expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and/or other data visualization tools.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CDMP, PMP, CISSP, CISM).
  • Fluent English language skills.
