About the position

As a System Administrator at CyberPoint you will assume responsibility for the maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting and problem diagnosis/resolution for all lab IT hardware and operating systems (e.g., Unix (Sun Solaris), Linux, and Microsoft Windows 2000, and Windows NT). You will access the scope and requirements of each developer request scheduled for the lab and assure technical support for those requirements. Additionally, you will provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. You will also provide technical recommendations to the customer and support team to maintain the lab IT architecture to mirror and keep current with all customer IT networks structures. Leading systems administration for hardware and software support for all developer requests, and new IT prototypes being hosted in the lab (large and small scale) will be part of your responsibilities. Configuration and maintenance of lab assets built on Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, and Linux operating systems will also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting and problem diagnosis/resolution for all lab IT hardware and operating systems.
  • Accessing the scope and requirements of each developer request scheduled for the lab and assuring technical support for those requirements.
  • Providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Providing technical recommendations to the customer and support team to maintain the lab IT architecture.
  • Leading systems administration for hardware and software support for all developer requests and new IT prototypes.
  • Configuration and maintenance of lab assets built on Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, and Linux operating systems.

Requirements

  • Experience in systems administration of hardware and software in support of developing and testing of SIGINT Information Technology systems.
  • Proficiency in working with applicable network devices including repeaters, bridges, routers, gateways, and hubs.
  • Experience in the administration of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows NT, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with computer networking protocols including TCP, IP, UDP, HTTP, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Experience supporting Java development activities, including applets, Java Server Pages, and J2EE frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring, Struts or Java Server Faces (JSF).
  • Experience supporting C and C++ development activities.
  • Experience supporting HTML, XML, and WEB-based Graphical User Interface/portal development activities.
  • Experience writing scripts.
  • An active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or related technical degree.
  • One or more of the following certifications: RHCSA or RHCE, CEH, CCNA, CISSP.
