System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain operating system, software, and hardware
• Monitor system performance to improve availability and reliability
• Perform system upgrades and patch management to enhance system security
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
• Perform backup and recovery operations at regular intervals
• Utilize ITIL-based processes to obtain capture tasks and obtain approvals
• Develop and maintain documentation of system configuration
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e.: Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar major with extensive computer-based or technical content)
• Minimum of 5 years of system administration experience in any size environment
• Foundational understanding of UNIX and Windows systems
• Core understanding of networking (e.g. routing, switching, protocols)
• 3-5 years of System Administration experience working supporting Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS) requirements
• Experience working with ITIL Service Transition and Operation processes, such as Change Management, Incident Management
• IAT II certification required (e.g. Security+, Cloud+)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub)
• Excellent interpersonal skills, good presentation, communication
• The candidate must be a team player, but be able to work independently, as required
• Ability to work within an Agile environment
• Experience working with Cloud DevOps environments, such as Azure DevOps
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS)
• Experience with DevSecOps principles and DoD policies related to the topic
