About the position

Koch Air, LLC, a leading distributor of Carrier residential and commercial products since 1936, is seeking a System Sales Engineer to join our team in Bloomington, Indiana. This position is crucial for generating sales within an assigned territory by effectively promoting Koch Air's products and services. The ideal candidate will be located in the Bloomington, IN or Terre Haute, IN area and will be responsible for maintaining existing accounts while also developing new business opportunities. As a System Sales Engineer, you will perform various sales functions for assigned accounts, ensuring that sales quotas are met. This includes maintaining accurate product information, writing and pricing customer orders for equipment and related materials, and conducting sales meetings with customers. You will also be expected to survey the market area to identify business trends and opportunities, and prepare sales forecasts and competitive pricing studies for management review. In addition to these responsibilities, you will participate in promotional training, attend meetings, and engage in the overall bid process, including participation in trade shows. Your role will also involve providing internal and external consulting on projects and handling customer issues by developing technical solutions. This position requires a proactive approach to sales and a strong commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sales functions for assigned accounts and in assigned territory to achieve sales quota, including maintaining existing accounts and developing new accounts.
  • Participate in promotional training, attend meetings, and engage in the overall bid process, including trade shows.
  • Maintain accurate product information and update assigned accounts accordingly.
  • Promote the sale of all products and systems handled by Koch Air.
  • Write and price customer orders for equipment and related materials.
  • Conduct sales meetings for customers.
  • Survey market area, quotes, and orders to detect business trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit sales forecasts, competitive pricing studies, and requests for competitive pricing to management.
  • Handle customer issues and develop technical solutions.
  • Provide internal and external consulting on projects.

Requirements

  • BE/BS Engineering Degree or BA Degree in a business-related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineer License is desirable for more complete product sales assignments.
  • Ability to use PC, Microsoft Office suite, and publishing software proficiently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the HVAC industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Carrier products and services.
