BAE Systems is offering an exciting opportunity to support an important and dynamic Department of Justice customer as a System Administrator. In this role, you will provide on-site technical and operational support in the installation, operation, and maintenance of special purpose computer-based client-server systems and equipment. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting complex hardware and software malfunctions and implementing effective solutions. This position requires superior interpersonal skills, as you will be interfacing daily with customer management, technical staff, and operator personnel to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise. As a System Administrator, you will be expected to have a strong foundation in client-server and LAN/WAN systems, architectures, and interface equipment. Your experience should include Windows system administration, particularly with Active Directory, Group Policy Object (GPO) configuration, and client systems support. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and performance of the systems you manage, ensuring that they meet the operational needs of the Department of Justice. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least 8 years of relevant experience. However, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science and 4 years of related experience will be preferred. Additional experience with high-speed Ethernet, fiber optics, routers, firewalls, enterprise storage administration, failover clustering, and Hyper-V administration will be highly beneficial. Familiarity with SAN, DAS, and NAS configurations and administration is also preferable.
