Systems Engineer I

About the position

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Systems Engineer I for our Goleta, CA facility to support and participate in technical activity. This position will design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems. They will also collaborate in problem resolution efforts and support efforts to regain or attain excellent customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Execute the systems engineering process including requirements analysis and engineering, architectural design, modeling & simulation, systems engineering documentation, risk management, system integration, and verification and validation
• Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
• Ensure the systems engineering process is integrated into program plans
• Support the acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed)
• May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of work
• Collaborate in problem resolution efforts and support efforts to regain or attain excellent customer satisfaction
• Be able to both complete a technical project or activity independently, and work with a team of engineers to complete a technical project or activity within schedule and budget constraints
• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
• Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
• Continuously develop your knowledge of the evolving practice of modern systems engineering
• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, written and oral
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
