About the position

As a Systems Engineer III, you will play a critical role in our DevOps team, ensuring the smooth operation and integration of various systems and applications. Your primary responsibility will be to adhere to the established processes for development within the program, tracking progress against assigned tasks and reporting status to the Tech Lead and management team. You will take personal ownership and accountability for delivering assigned tasks and deliverables within the established schedule, facilitating a strong and supportive team environment that enables both the team and individual members to overcome any political, bureaucratic, or resource barriers to participation. In this hands-on role, you will be expected to recommend and implement solutions independently while being available for technical support around the clock. Continuous improvement of the existing deployment plan to automate activities and enhance efficiency will be a key focus. You will leverage your extensive experience in DevOps and Java to contribute to the development and integration of core banking applications, ensuring that all technical requirements are met and that the systems are robust and reliable. Your technical skillset will include a strong foundation in Linux operating systems, cloud platforms, and various DevOps tools. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining Java applications, working with microservices, and ensuring seamless integration with third-party applications. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, will be essential in collaborating with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the processes followed for development in the program.
• Track progress against assigned tasks and report status to the Tech Lead and management team.
• Take personal ownership and accountability for delivering assigned tasks and deliverables within the established schedule.
• Facilitate a strong and supportive team environment that enables the team and individual members to overcome barriers to participation.
• Recommend and implement solutions, working independently as needed.
• Provide 24/7 technical support as required.
• Continuously improve the existing deployment plan to automate activities and enhance efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT Engineering.
• 5 to 8 years of recent hands-on DevOps and Java experience.
• Strong DevOps skills in continuous development and continuous integration.
• Experience with Linux operating systems, preferably RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
• Hands-on experience with tools like Git, Bamboo/Jenkins, Maven/Ant, Artifactory, Jira, Confluence, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud/Bluemix, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and their IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solutions.
• Experience with scripting languages like Batch, Bash, and Python.
• Experience in automatic package management with Helm for deployment in Openshift/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of integration and unit testing, as well as Behavior Driven Development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Hands-on experience developing with Java 8 and Spring Boot.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL, and working with Microservices.
• Good REST APIs and JSON experience, along with knowledge of JMS and Kafka.
