About the position

Cintas is seeking a Systems Engineer-Level 3-Networking for the Enterprise Services team within IT. This role involves researching advanced technology trends, designing innovative solutions, and ensuring enterprise-wide service level agreements (SLAs) are met. The engineer will lead projects, provide technical expertise, and influence long-term technology strategy across multiple business units.

Responsibilities

  • Research advanced technology trends in networking and related areas.
  • Identify emerging trends and initiate research projects for team members.
  • Design innovative solutions using new technologies and recommend short-term alternatives when appropriate.
  • Create prototypes and lead initial development and testing through to production.
  • Define enterprise-wide scoped SLAs to ensure requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Escalate problems as required based on SLAs.
  • Develop client satisfaction and capacity planning metrics.
  • Coordinate assessment of emerging technologies as the lead subject matter expert.
  • Evaluate and recommend new projects or tools for the organization.
  • Oversee cost benefit analysis and present options to management teams.
  • Assist in the resolution of support issues escalated by senior operations or development personnel.
  • Provide technical expertise across business functions.
  • Articulate the relationship between business and the data and technology that support the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes via new technologies.
  • Make recommendations and influence long-term technology strategy and planning for multiple business units.
  • Assist in the development of RFPs and responses to new business opportunities.
  • Act as subject matter expert to various project teams.
  • Determine dependencies and prerequisites for projects.
  • Create CRFs for assigned tasks and ensure CRFs are approved in accordance with project timeline.
  • Define production readiness and transition acceptance criteria and ensure criteria are completed before new system implementation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in IT discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting enterprise level WAN/LAN technology.
  • Experience with Cisco ASR and ISR routers, Cisco Catalyst switches, and Nexus switches.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting WAN protocols and technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting LAN protocols and technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of an enterprise level wireless environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of enterprise firewalls.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of Cisco ISE with 802.1x implementation.
  • Experience with F5 environment running LTM, GTM, ASM and BigIQ.
  • Working knowledge of policy-based routing, CoS/QoS, AAA, RADIUS, TACACS+, SNMP, NTP, and IPv6.
  • CCNP or equivalent competency.
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Viptela SDWAN, Cisco Umbrella, networking components of GCP and Azure.
