About the position

The Systems/Network Administrator (Linux) at Leidos is responsible for managing enterprise computer systems and networks, focusing on technical issue analysis and corrective action implementation. This role supports mission operations through innovative approaches, rapid prototyping, and advanced technology research, contributing to the development of new analytics and enhancing tradecraft in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Actively manage enterprise computer systems and networks, analyzing technical issues, and developing and implementing corrective actions.
  • Observe and interpret visual outputs indicating the operating status of systems and network components for designated computer network infrastructure.
  • Translate user requests into technical diagnoses, then apply diagnoses to develop technical solutions to meet user needs.
  • Develop strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture/technology with minimal impact.
  • Evaluate new technologies or equipment that can be added to Agency standard solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree plus 10 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma/GED plus 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree must be in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • Relevant experience must be in computer or information systems design/development, programming, information/cyber/network security, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, computer forensics, information assurance and/or systems engineering.
  • Strong Linux experience.
  • Experience in systems/network administration, application administration, and/or information technology support or management.
  • Experience supporting hardware installation, such as servers and network infrastructure.
  • Experience setting up storage such as network-attached storage.
  • Experience implementing security best practices to include PKI certificate generation, deployment and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Unix shell scripting languages like Bash, Bourne, or C.
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (must possess active clearance to be considered for this role).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience deploying and maintaining nginx.
  • Familiarity with Docker and RedHat Satellite.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments like AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) products like Terraform, SALT and Ansible as well as system monitoring platforms like Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience with SELinux and FIPS.
