About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Taco Bell is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, and product quality. This role involves leading a dynamic team, managing costs, and driving sales growth while maintaining a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have restaurant management experience and a strong ability to motivate and develop team members.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure cost categories and controllable expenses are managed according to company guidelines and budget levels.
  • Drive positive sales growth by executing standards in all operational areas.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels to meet scheduling requirements.
  • Prepare and conduct performance appraisals for Team Members, Shift Leaders, and Assistant Managers.
  • Coach, counsel, train, and develop all Team Members and managers to meet expected certification and performance levels.
  • Ensure compliance with food-service sanitation guidelines and regulations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and effectively handle guest complaints to encourage repeat business.
  • Provide timely feedback to the Area Coach on operating results.
  • Manage turnover through effective selection, training, and employee treatment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; a degree is a plus but not mandatory.
  • 2-3 years of general manager experience preferred; previous Yum! Brands experience is a plus.
  • Experience in fast food or quick service is advantageous.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong planning, organization, and follow-up skills are necessary.
  • Effective decision-making and conflict resolution skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in restaurant management is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Yum! Brands is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop team members.
