McLaughlin Family Companies is seeking a strategic and hands-on Talent Acquisition Manager to lead and optimize our recruitment function across multiple locations in Iowa and Mississippi. This role will oversee full-cycle recruitment for all levels of the organization, with a focus on salaried, technical, and leadership positions, while ensuring alignment with our company culture and long-term growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic talent acquisition plans to support business growth across manufacturing, automotive, and administrative operations.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt roles, including senior-level positions and hard-to-fill technical roles.
  • Manage job postings, sourcing strategies, candidate pipelines, and interview processes for all departments and locations.
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess workforce needs, create compelling job descriptions, and define selection criteria.
  • Lead employer branding efforts through community engagement, social media, college partnerships, and career events.
  • Create and monitor internship programs.
  • Manage the offer process including market fluctuations.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership on compensation strategy, internal equity, and offer recommendations.
  • Establish and report on recruitment KPIs such as time-to-fill, source of hire, and candidate quality.
  • Oversee the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure compliance with EEO, OFCCP, and company standards.
  • Mentor HR coordinators and hiring managers in interviewing best practices and consistent candidate evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on onboarding, internal mobility, succession planning, and retention efforts.
  • Stay current with labor market trends in Iowa and Mississippi and proactively address recruitment challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive recruiting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting technical, engineering, or manufacturing roles is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (especially IA & MS).
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment marketing platforms.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • High level of initiative and a track record of working independently in a multi-location environment.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or AIRS certification.
  • Experience working in heavy manufacturing or automotive industries.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
