About the position

The Manager position in the National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) at Deloitte Tax LLP involves managing relationships and overseeing tax planning and compliance support for large organizations, particularly in the debt investment sector. The role requires effective data management and knowledge of financial products and tax principles, with a focus on delivering results for clients in a collaborative and diverse team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships and ensure timely reporting of milestone and dependency status.
  • Monitor risks and issues to escalate and execute day-to-day management activities.
  • Oversee asset-level diligence and analysis on debt investments.
  • Prepare and/or review debt taxable income calculations and reports.
  • Communicate with clients, their servicers, and/or administrators.
  • Lead client resources and engagements, developing a game plan for execution and reviewing deliverables.
  • Perform tax research to address technical issues related to debt investment transactions.
  • Train junior professionals on applicable technical issues.
  • Develop requirements for TARDI system enhancements and conduct ongoing testing of calculations and reporting.
  • Support pursuit of new client opportunities through analysis of prospective client debt holdings.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-time professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, MIS, or related field required.
  • Practical knowledge in fixed income financial products, income tax principles, debt instruments, and/or project management.
  • Big 4 experience or equivalent.
  • Data Analytics experience and solid technology skills.
  • One of the following active accreditations: Licensed CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, PMP, CFA.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% based on work and client needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, LLM, or other applicable degree.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience serving clients or working within the financial services industry.
  • Solid experience in financial system design and implementation.
  • Background in financial portfolio review, regulatory reporting, and bond administration.
