Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Senior Manager specializing in Compensation & Benefits to join its Washington National Tax team. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge and demonstrated experience in this area, particularly in navigating federal tax regulations and providing insights to both team members and clients. The role is primarily office-based, requiring proximity to a Baker Tilly office, and is characterized by a steady schedule that avoids the intense peaks typically associated with busy tax seasons. In this position, you will be responsible for providing tax technical support and insights to various teams, including tax, audit, consulting, and internal HR practices. Your expertise will be crucial in addressing employee benefits and executive compensation issues, which may encompass topics such as ERISA, qualified retirement plans, fringe benefits, golden parachutes, deferred compensation, and equity compensation. You will also be expected to brief team members on relevant issues, attend client meetings, and engage directly with clients or their legal counsel to discuss these matters. Additionally, you will be tasked with staying updated on current developments in tax law and preparing alerts to inform team members about significant changes that may impact their work. This includes drafting internal and external communications regarding new developments in compensation and benefit matters. You will also play a key role in training sessions, both formal and informal, aimed at enhancing the knowledge of employee benefits and executive compensation within the firm. Participation in seminars, conferences, and government hearings will also be part of your responsibilities, as will collaboration with other specialty groups on overlapping technical issues. Your role will involve conducting tax research projects, developing recommendations, and sharing insights with leadership to strategize on various tax-related matters. Strong writing and communication skills are essential, as you will be expected to produce high-quality written materials and effectively convey complex tax concepts to diverse audiences.
