About the position

Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Senior Manager for its Washington National Tax team, focusing on Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits. This internal position is designed for tax specialists who are eager to deepen their technical expertise and advance their careers in a specialized area of tax. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and proven experience in the taxation of compensation and benefits, making them a valuable asset to the Baker Tilly tax practice and its clients. The role is primarily focused on providing thought leadership and tax technical support to team members across various practices, including tax, audit, consulting, and internal HR. In this position, you will be responsible for deciphering complex federal tax regulations and guidance, translating these into understandable terms for team members and clients alike. You will work closely with a team of like-minded professionals, providing insights on employee benefits and executive compensation issues that impact client projects. This includes areas such as ERISA, qualified retirement plans, fringe benefits, golden parachutes, deferred compensation, and equity compensation. Your role will involve preparing detailed emails and planning memos, participating in conference calls, and attending client meetings to discuss relevant issues directly with clients or their legal counsel. This position is ideal for individuals who prefer a steady work schedule without the intense peaks associated with busy seasons, enjoy writing and research, and thrive in a collaborative team environment. Located near a Baker Tilly office is required, and the role emphasizes internal client relationships rather than external ones, allowing for a more focused and consistent work experience.
