About the position

Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Senior Manager specializing in Compensation & Benefits to join its Washington National Tax team. This internal position is designed for tax specialists who are eager to enhance their technical skills and develop a career focused on the taxation of compensation and benefits. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding and proven experience in this area, particularly in deciphering federal tax regulations and providing guidance to both internal teams and clients. The role is primarily suited for individuals who prefer working with internal clients rather than external ones, and who appreciate a steady work schedule that avoids the intense peaks typically associated with busy tax seasons. Strong writing and communication skills are essential, as the position involves significant research and documentation responsibilities. In this role, you will be responsible for providing tax technical support and insights to team members across various practices, including tax, audit, consulting, and internal HR. You will address employee benefits and executive compensation issues that impact client projects, which may encompass areas such as ERISA, qualified retirement plans, fringe benefits, golden parachutes, deferred compensation, and equity compensation. Your duties will also include briefing team members on relevant issues, participating in client meetings, and collaborating with clients or their legal counsel to review pertinent matters. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the Baker Tilly tax practice while working alongside a team of dedicated professionals.
