About the position

Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax, and assurance firm that provides clients with a genuine coast-to-coast and global advantage in major regions of the U.S. and in many of the world's leading financial centers. The Tax Senior Manager position in the Washington National Tax team is designed for tax specialists who are looking to expand their technical skills and build a career in a specific field of tax, particularly in the area of compensation and benefits. This role is ideal for individuals who possess deep knowledge and demonstrated experience in the taxation of compensation and benefits. The position requires a strong individual who enjoys deciphering federal tax regulations and can effectively communicate these complexities to others. In this role, you will be responsible for providing tax technical support and insight to team members across various practices, including tax, audit, consulting, and internal HR. You will work on employee benefits and executive compensation issues that affect projects for the team's clients, which may include areas such as ERISA, qualified retirement plans, fringe benefits, golden parachutes, deferred compensation, and equity compensation. The position emphasizes collaboration with internal clients rather than external clients, allowing for a more stable work schedule without the intense peaks typically associated with busy seasons. Strong writing and communication skills are essential, as you will be expected to prepare emails, planning memos, and participate in conference calls and meetings with clients and their legal counsel or advisors.
