About the position

The Tax Technology and Transformation Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing process efficiencies and delivering innovative technology solutions within the Corporate Tax Department. This individual contributor position focuses on supporting cross-functional projects, particularly in relation to the upgrade of MassMutual's ERP system to SAP S/4HANA, while also addressing both domestic and international tax operations. The role requires a blend of technical tax knowledge, accounting expertise, and process improvement skills to drive transformation initiatives that align with the finance organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Support cross-functional tax projects and initiatives, including ledger system upgrade (S/4HANA).
• Identify opportunities and drive process improvements across Corporate Tax.
• Implement domestic and international provision and compliance tools.
• Increase automation and enhance digital analytics and data quality using technology solutions.
• Build out modeling capabilities for tax impacts of forecasts, legislation, transactions, and accounting guidance.
• Manage tax transformation projects to ensure timelines and objectives are met.
• Maintain tax-basis ledger, tax data, and hierarchies to meet evolving needs.
• Provide guidance, support, and training to tax team members on technology and transformation matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, or Management Information Systems.
• 7+ years of tax accounting experience (public accounting or large company).
• 2+ years of experience with tax provision and compliance software such as CorpTax.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA or MST highly desirable.
• Experience with ERPs such as SAP and ERP system implementations.
• Strong understanding of tax systems, data flow, and interfaces.
• Experience with emerging technology solutions (Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
• Experience with both domestic and international provision and compliance tools.
