About the position

The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) for Special Education (M/M) at the Orange Unified School District plays a pivotal role in supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities. Responsibilities

  • Support classroom teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and recommendations for instructional adjustments.
  • Conduct professional development sessions for teachers on best practices in special education.
  • Collaborate with administrators and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Engage with parents and the community to promote understanding and support for special education initiatives.
  • Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the school and district.
  • Stay informed about special education laws and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.

Requirements

  • Valid California Teaching Credential in Education Specialist Instruction - Mild/Moderate.
  • English Learner Authorization (may be embedded in the California credential).
  • Copy of college transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable).
  • Letter of introduction outlining qualifications and interest in the position.
  • Recent letter(s) of recommendation or reference (dated within the last 2 years).
  • Resume detailing relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Test results/materials from CBEST/CSET.
