The Teacher for Special Education EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disorders) at North View Middle School is responsible for inspiring and preparing each scholar to achieve their dreams while contributing to the community and engaging in a lifetime of learning. This role involves providing instruction and support in the curriculum areas relevant to the position, which includes writing and implementing individual scholar goals and objectives. The teacher will evaluate scholar performance according to the goals outlined in the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) used by the district, promoting scholar achievement, and maintaining required scholar records. Additionally, the teacher will make related reports to the site or department licensed administrators as prescribed or authorized by the superintendent. The position requires maintaining contact and communication with the guardians or caregivers of scholars, working collaboratively with them in the development of each scholar. Classroom management duties are essential, including enforcing district rules governing conduct and understanding and implementing due process guidelines in accordance with state and federal rules, regulations, and district policy. The teacher will be expected to make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies, implement the goals and objectives of the district and the school or program for which they are employed, and provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning when applicable. Participation in district, building, department, or program leadership activities is also encouraged. Osseo Area Schools is a Qcomp school district, which emphasizes teacher development and evaluation. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and a Minnesota teaching license in EBD or a valid Minnesota teaching license in another field, with a willingness to obtain an Out of Field Permission. If not currently licensed, the candidate must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 license. Multiple licenses are preferred, and the desired start date for this position is August 26, 2024.
