About the position

As a Team Lead in the System Studies group at NEI Electric Power Engineering, you will manage a team of engineers focused on power systems modeling and analysis. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accurate, timely, and quality completion of electrical engineering scopes assigned to the team. You will also assist in developing and enforcing the department's Standard Best Practices (SBPs) and serve as a mentor to help team members grow professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of engineers responsible for power systems modeling and analysis.
  • Ensure the accurate, timely, and quality completion of electrical engineering scopes.
  • Assist in the development of the department's Standard Best Practices (SBPs).
  • Provide coaching and mentorship for team members.
  • Conduct review and QA/QC for electrical studies in support of design teams.
  • Provide regulatory compliance services for all project design phases.
  • Establish study templates, methodologies, and best practices for electrical system studies.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for study software related questions and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare various documents and reports associated with projects, including proposals and budget reports.
  • Assist with client communications and meetings regarding specific assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
  • FE licensure is required; PE licensure is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medium and low voltage distribution, switchgear, motor control centers, and industrial instrumentation and controls.
  • Proficiency in power system modeling software such as PowerFactory, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and PSCAD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with renewable energy facilities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in electrical engineering.
