About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Teledyne Technologies Incorporated plays a pivotal role in the customer success team, focusing on technical advocacy to ensure that the deployment and management of solutions align with the strategic goals of customers. This position is essential for driving greater security and safety outcomes by deploying FLIR solutions in high-end customer environments. The TAM collaborates closely with Customer Success Managers (CSM) to provide a comprehensive approach to customer relationships, where the CSM handles overall business interactions while the TAM focuses on the technical aspects of deployment. In this role, the TAM is responsible for planning and deploying FLIR solutions, which includes accurately specifying hardware and networking needs, and assisting in every aspect of the deployment process from hardware to software. The TAM will also manage the support strategy in collaboration with vendors, oversee project execution, and assist in launch planning as well as addressing any ongoing operational issues that may arise. The position requires a proactive approach to customer engagement, where the TAM must become an expert in the solutions offered by FLIR. This includes providing support to internal teams such as Solutions Architects, Sales Managers, and Support Personnel when technical expertise is needed. The role may involve travel up to 50% within the US to assist with deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational needs at various customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert at planning and deploying FLIR solutions.
  • Work with customers to accurately spec hardware and networking needs and assist in every aspect of the deployment from hardware to software.
  • Travel as required to assist in deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational needs.
  • Work with hardware vendors to build and ship appliances and manage the hardware refresh cycle.
  • Provide support to internal Solutions Architects, Sales Managers, and Support Personnel when expertise is needed.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or professional experience equivalent, required. Computer Science or Networking degrees are ideal.
  • Experience deploying solutions on a distributed architecture.
  • Understanding of and ability to use APIs.
  • Ability to quickly understand and troubleshoot complex networking requirements and software applications.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, comfortable presenting from the technician level to the program management level.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCIE, CCNP or equivalent certifications.
  • LPIC-3, LFCE, RHCE or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience deploying and managing cloud applications.
  • Prior background in computer engineering for AI / ML computer vision products.
  • Experience in the security industry.
  • Prior work with Government Agencies.
