About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at AWS Enterprise Support serves as the principal technical advisor for customers, helping them maximize the value of AWS services. This role focuses on proactive engagement with clients to drive adoption and ensure operational health of their AWS environments, rather than direct troubleshooting. The TAM collaborates with engineers and service teams to resolve issues and provides strategic guidance to align AWS solutions with customer needs across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for AWS services.
  • Work proactively to craft and execute strategies for customer adoption of AWS services.
  • Collaborate with engineers and service teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance for planning and building solutions using best practices.
  • Maintain operational health and resilience of customers' AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, and 2+ years of equivalent work experience or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Eligibility to access and support AWS GovCloud.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars and their application to customer architecture.
  • Experience as a technical lead in internal enterprise or external customer-facing roles.
  • Ability to identify and balance trade-offs in technical or operational challenges.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to executive audiences.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
