About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is designed to provide strategic technical guidance and advocacy to customers, ensuring they derive maximum value from AWS services. This position focuses on building strong relationships with clients, understanding their operational needs, and proactively addressing technical challenges. The TAM acts as a principal technical advisor, collaborating with engineering teams to resolve issues and drive customer adoption of AWS technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Help plan and build solutions using AWS best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.
  • Craft and execute strategies to enhance customer adoption of AWS services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to executive audiences.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Development experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience applying technical or operational expertise to solve complex challenges.
