About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Microsoft Advertising is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with exceptional customer relationship management. The TAM serves as a trusted advisor to key strategic customers, helping them navigate the Microsoft Advertising Platform and optimize their digital advertising strategies. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to foster long-term relationships with clients, ensuring they achieve their business goals through effective use of Microsoft's advertising solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, field teams, and partners through a deep understanding of the Microsoft Advertising Platform and online advertising industry.
  • Establish deep client relationships with key technical and product decision makers to influence product adoption and exceed client goals.
  • Implement high-performance solutions across teams and environments with minimal assistance.
  • Monitor telemetry data and perform analyses to identify patterns that reveal errors and unexpected problems.
  • Respond to incidents by identifying the level of impact, troubleshooting basic issues, and suggesting/deploying appropriate fixes.
  • Follow prescriptive guidance for security, privacy, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate within and across teams by proactively sharing information and managing dependencies.
  • Improve the development and operations of systems, platforms, or product features by sharing insights and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering OR equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of technologies including JavaScript, Python, SQL, HTTP, HTML, JSON, cookies/sessions, REST, SAML, etc.
  • Experience designing and improving project management processes and methodologies.
  • 2+ years of client-facing technical experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years in software/solutions engineering, technical account management, sales engineering, integration consulting, or related roles.
  • Experience in the online advertising industry, including knowledge of CPC/CPM/other models, ad serving, ad operations, and campaign management.
  • Experience with big data platforms and large volume data analytics.
