About the position

Molex is seeking a dynamic and proactive Technical Account Manager to join our highly visible HPE Team in Houston, focusing on Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. This position is crucial for developing, defining, and executing strategies aimed at achieving profitable growth objectives within the fast-paced and high-energy DataComm division of HPE. The Technical Account Manager will play a significant role in customer engagement, requiring substantial customer-facing time and relationship building at all levels within the customer organization. This role will also involve representing Molex's electronic solutions effectively. The Technical Account Manager will work closely with various internal teams, including Business Units (BU), Global Sales and Marketing (GSM), and cross-functional teams globally. The primary goal is to exceed customer expectations and create value for the organization. This position demands a proactive approach to identifying and nurturing successful working relationships within key areas of the customer organization, establishing Molex as a technical leader and preferred supplier. In this role, the manager will engage with key architects and designers involved in server, storage, and networking applications. They will also be responsible for monitoring and communicating key trends across the Enterprise and DataComm markets, including a solid understanding of the competitive landscape. The Technical Account Manager will gather necessary industry data analytics to support strategic business direction and maximize profitable revenue growth in their area of responsibility, utilizing Salesforce to track activities. Additionally, the role involves supporting global activities by leveraging company resources to assist in solution development, proposal delivery, implementation, and closure of new business opportunities. The manager will analyze customer and market strategies to screen potential business deals and effectively coordinate and drive Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback back to the business units to advance opportunities. Tracking financial and pipeline results throughout the fiscal year is also a key responsibility, along with creating training tools and marketing materials to assist in advancing key opportunities. The Technical Account Manager will be expected to understand and support the Principle Based Management (PBM) philosophy and culture, developing Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations (RRE's) for all activities to optimize value back to the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and grow successful working relationships within all key areas of the customer organization to establish Molex as a technical leader and supplier of choice.
  • Identify and engage key architects and designers working on server, storage, networking applications.
  • Identify, monitor, and communicate key trends across the Enterprise and DataComm markets and industries, including working knowledge of the competitive landscape.
  • Gather necessary industry data analytics on various market segments to support strategic business direction.
  • Maximize profitable revenue growth and pipeline of programs in area of responsibility, tracking this activity using Salesforce.
  • Support Global activity leveraging company resources to assist in solution development, proposal delivery, implementation, and closure of new business pipeline to meet target objectives.
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing customer and market strategies, deal requirements, opportunity potential, and financial metrics to advance/close new business opportunities.
  • Effectively coordinate and drive VOC back to the business units to advance opportunities.
  • Track financial and pipeline results throughout the fiscal year as required by management through monthly/quarterly reporting and business updates.
  • Create and develop available training tools including relevant presentations, marketing material, sample kits, to assist in advancement of key opportunities.
  • Understand, adopt and support PBM (Principle Based Management) philosophy and culture, and Guiding Principles.
  • Develop RRE's (Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations) for all activities to drive and optimize value back to the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with engineering or business focus.
  • Outside sales experience in the high-speed interconnect and cable industry primarily in a customer-facing role.
  • Global Sales experience managing a decentralized OEM Account.
  • Ability to travel (30%) - Some International Travel.
  • A self-motivated individual who can successfully manage and prioritize their own workload.
