About the position

The Technical Consultant role at Edward Jones focuses on supporting the implementation and maintenance of digital workspace strategies and end-user computing solutions. This position is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of the end-user computing environment across North America, contributing to the company's commitment to enhancing client experiences through innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management and support of end-user hardware (both physical and virtual), operating systems, browsers, and software deployment.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and architects on end-user computing initiatives, focusing on the practical execution of strategies.
  • Participate in technical troubleshooting efforts to resolve end-user computing issues and improve user experience.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of security standards for endpoint devices in partnership with Information Security.
  • Help in the execution of automation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiencies.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to support continuous improvement in end-user computing.
  • Support the packaging, deployment, and management of applications, application task sequences, working closely with senior team members to ensure alignment with best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes, resolve issues, and improve the end-user experience.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of IT experience, with a strong focus on end-user computing environments.
  • Proficient in the administration and troubleshooting of end-user hardware and operating systems (Windows and MacOS), Microsoft Office suite, and Active Directory.
  • Proficiency with software packaging and deployment tools such as RayPack and AdminStudio, deployment tools and platforms such as Microsoft SCCM and Intune.
  • Experience with endpoint monitoring solutions focused on user experience such as Nexthink, ControlUp, and Liquidware Stratusphere.
  • Basic knowledge of automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell.
  • Understanding of ITIL best practices and their application in a corporate environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders.
