About the position

The Technical Lead position is a pivotal role within our Development team, primarily focused on the design, development, unit testing, and validation of new modifications to the Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) RedPrairie Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role requires a deep understanding of the WMS solution to effectively support transformational projects and programs. The Technical Lead will leverage their expertise to ensure that the Blue Yonder solutions are configured and delivered in a manner that enhances customer business processes. In this role, the Technical Lead will be a key contributor to change management efforts for both global and regional program implementations. They will be responsible for preparing and delivering presentations to various audiences, including users, management, and executive-level stakeholders. The Technical Lead will provide valuable advice to customers regarding industry best practices and process methodologies, assisting Project Managers in planning efforts and ensuring that business needs are accurately assessed, particularly those that fall outside standard solutions. The Technical Lead will lead the project team in designing and developing functional specifications for modifications, interfaces, reports, and screens, ensuring seamless integration between technical and functional business requirements. They will also prepare Product Requirement Specifications and test plans for modifications, closely interacting with Development services to ensure quality delivery. Throughout the project lifecycle, the Technical Lead will create and modify procedural and system documentation, support the execution of test scripts, and provide level 3 non-technical support during the go-live period. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and consultants, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop modifications for the Blue Yonder WMS solution.
  • Conduct unit testing and validation of new modifications.
  • Provide support for production issues related to modifications.
  • Serve as the WMS solution expert for transformational projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for user, management, and executive level audiences.
  • Advise customers on industry best practices and process methodologies.
  • Assist Project Managers in planning efforts and assessing business needs.
  • Lead the project team in creating functional specifications for modifications and interfaces.
  • Prepare Product Requirement Specifications and test plans for modifications.
  • Interact with Development services for quality delivery and customer demonstrations.
  • Create and modify procedural and system documentation throughout the project.
  • Support the execution of test scripts to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Provide level 3 non-technical support during the go-live period.
  • Act as a technical liaison in key meetings with project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8 to 11 years of corporate experience in a relevant field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Expertise in technical configuration of WMS products, particularly BYJDARedPrairie WMS.
  • Experience with solution integration, quality assurance, and system testing.
  • Proficiency in PLSQL, SQL Server, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Jasper reports, Nice labels, Pagebuilder, and MOCA.
  • Knowledge of interfaces between WMS and ERP/Host systems, TMS, WLM, and 3rd party systems.
  • Understanding of integration between WMS and Voice Material Handling ASRS systems.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems with minimal guidance.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of operating systems and client-server technology.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with customers and partners.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
