The Technical Delivery Manager (EAM) at National Grid plays a crucial role in managing application maintenance and supporting daily operations within the IT Engineering portfolio. The primary responsibility of the IT Manager is to lead the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications, with a focus on IBM's Work & Asset Management solution, Maximo. In this position, the Technical Delivery Manager will direct the overall deployment and activities of their staff, ensuring effective resolution of issues and alignment with support teams from other areas and dependent business units. The role involves working closely with business partners and stakeholders to identify requirements and opportunities for creating or modifying applications that support key strategies and objectives. The manager will oversee all deliverables related to application operation, maintenance, support, and release management, ensuring successful delivery of key capital project implementations and a seamless transition to steady state support. Additionally, the Technical Delivery Manager will manage outsourced managed services and cloud/hosted contract SLAs, develop application monitoring for performance optimization, and evaluate root cause technical solutions to eliminate technical debt. Establishing effective working relationships with key clients and business partners is essential, as is the development of performance metrics to demonstrate improvements in service delivery and SLA adherence. The manager will guide stakeholders towards solutions that maximize National Grid's investment in technology and will be responsible for developing strategic plans and road maps to standardize and simplify production release processes, improve application resiliency, and enhance service delivery quality. Furthermore, the role requires leading architectural decisions, managing maintenance and project costs, and ensuring adherence to SOX mandated controls.
