The Technical Operations Support Specialist (TOSS) is a full-time position located at the Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center (MCAC). This position is responsible for integrating the MCAC's technological tools and other resources to support local, state, and federal public safety agencies during the response to critical incidents and special events. These technological tools include automated license plate reader (ALPR), closed circuit television (CCTV), Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) virtual command centers (VCCs), and the Team Awareness Kit (TAK). During crisis operations, this position will be responsible for deploying to command posts, emergency operations centers, and other coordination centers as requested by appropriate local, state, or federal public safety agencies to integrate MCAC technology tools in support of the incident response. During steady state operations, this position will be responsible for providing training to MCAC personnel on technical tools used to support public safety operations and developing relationships with partner agencies that may request MCAC support. The TOSS will work collaboratively with other divisions and branches of the MCAC including (but not limited to) the Watch & Warning Division, Information Technology Branch, License Plate Reader Branch, Anti-Terrorism Division, and MView Branch to coordinate critical incident support activities prior to, during, and after incidents and events.
