About the position

The Technical Portfolio Lead at A&M Alvarez & Marsal is responsible for managing the design, development, organization, delivery, and evaluation of specialized learning programs, including technical training and industry-specific courses. This role involves leading a team and collaborating with Learning Partners and subject matter experts to ensure training initiatives align with organizational needs. A strong background in instructional design and learning operations is essential, along with experience in managing technical learning in a professional services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead portfolio resources to support the effective design, development, organization, delivery, and evaluation of training programs.
  • Collaborate with Learning Partners to identify and prioritize training needs across the organization.
  • Provide guidance on best practice approaches to address business performance challenges with blended learning solutions.
  • Produce high-level design proposals and Statements of Work in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Manage and refine processes, methodologies, and tools for creating and evaluating learning content.
  • Maintain and update the course catalog to reflect current training offerings.
  • Design and develop high-quality learning content aligned with specific learning objectives.
  • Review existing learning solutions and coordinate updates and continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead the development and curation of various learning assets with support from internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to design processes and timely delivery of design projects.
  • Engage with SMEs to create and review course materials for technical accuracy.
  • Apply instructional design principles to enhance content effectiveness and engagement.
  • Manage relationships with content vendors and leverage development tools to produce learning materials.
  • Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions and ensure instructors are prepared for delivery.
  • Coordinate with the delivery team to ensure readiness for new courses.
  • Review and approve all course communications for consistency and alignment with standards.
  • Provide on-site or remote support during course conduct as needed.
  • Oversee the organization, storage, retrieval, and version control of technical learning materials.
  • Own technical course SharePoint sites and coordinate with the LMS team for course setup.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications are advantageous.
  • 10+ years in learning and development, managing technical learning programs in professional services.
  • Deep understanding of instructional design principles and experience in developing comprehensive learning programs.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms, course authoring tools, and content management systems.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing content libraries and ensuring version control.
  • Ability to evaluate learning effectiveness using data and apply insights for improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle tight deadlines.
