At Google DeepMind, we're a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to focus on overall team enablement.

  • Develop a program for our TPM community that encourages knowledge sharing across multiple existing and to-be-created forums.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to foster a sense of belonging and agency.
  • Identify and cultivate TPM leaders to champion best practices and continuously raise the bar for what TPMs can do to drive our technology forward.
  • Develop incentives and models that increase the agency of TPMs across our organization.
  • Develop and implement wellness programs that foster TPMs operating at the top of their game while working in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly evolving and nascent industry.
  • Analyze current TPM processes and identify areas for improvement, including project planning, risk management, communication, and reporting.
  • Design and implement standardized TPM workflows, templates, and tools to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Oversee internal training programs to upskill and share best practices for TPMs.
  • Build or amplify tools that save TPMs time, including use of our own SOTA models to supercharge TPM agency and efficiency.
  • Build programs, tools, and workflows that increase information flow and enhance individual efficacy across the TPM function.
  • Establish metrics to measure the impact of TPMs on our models and business outcomes.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting cadences to measure the success of TPM programs and initiatives you drive, and of our entire TPM function.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align TPM goals with broader business objectives.
  • Assess TPM skill gaps at the org or sub-org level and develop targeted training programs to address specific needs, including technical expertise, leadership development, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with internal and external training providers to deliver high-quality training content.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the TPM community.
  • Proven experience as a TPM or Program Manager with a strong track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects.
  • Deep understanding of Technical Program Management practices, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Strong sense of curiosity and flexibility of mindset and approaches.
  • Experience building upskilling and learning programs that are highly valued by attendees and the business alike.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Bonus for scripting skills, coding skills, and SQL/data engineering abilities.
  • Experience building (not just running) a thriving community from scratch.
  • Base salary range between $142,000 - $219,000
