About The Position

The Program Manager at Meta Reality Labs will play a pivotal role in the Display Team, focusing on the development of advanced optical components and module assemblies for AR/VR displays. This position requires a blend of strategic planning, technical understanding, and effective communication to ensure project success and deliver an exceptional user experience. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resilient, and capable of inspiring team members while managing complex technical programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in optics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a similar field.
• 5+ years as a technical program manager or in a related role.
• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing rigid and flexible circuit assemblies in high-volume settings.
• Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes and techniques.
• Familiarity with schematic design, board layout, DFM/DFX, and electrical validation processes.
• Experience with SMT processes.
• Proficient in program management tools and managing schedules across multiple teams.
• Experience delivering complex technology programs from inception to delivery.
• Ability to establish work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and different time zones.
• Experience leading vendors and contract manufacturers.
• Familiarity with new product introduction (NPI) and technology transfer best practices.

• Experience with Augmented Reality products and technologies.
• Experience with SiP (System in Package) design and manufacturing.
• Experience building schedules for PCB/FPC/RFPC.
• Experience leading engineering teams on electrical board validations and debugging.

• Experience with HW & SW integration and calibration algorithms.
• Experience in medical devices or regulated industries.
• Advanced manufacturing experience in semiconductor processing and lens manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead product & process development activities for advanced optical components and module assemblies for AR/VR displays.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and manage key constraints for product development.
• Manage projects with suppliers and partners, ensuring deliverables align with business needs.
• Evaluate suppliers' capabilities and establish a robust supply chain strategy in partnership with the ops team.
• Operate at various levels of abstraction, from strategic planning to tactical project management.
• Break down complex technical programs for better understanding among team members and support functions.
• Proactively identify and address technical, legal, and logistical issues to manage project risks.
• Identify necessary resources and maintain visibility of project schedules and potential roadblocks.
• Act as the main communication channel for formal discussions involving technical leaders and external partners.
• Travel domestically and internationally 4-6 times a year.
