About the position

ByteDance is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join our network engineering team based in Mountain View, Seattle, or Ashburn. You'll drive the end-to-end delivery of the systems behind ByteDance and work with various team members to inspire creativity and bring joy to users around the globe. As a TPM, you'll be the bridge between various public cloud vendors and internal teams across countries, working closely with people from Product, Engineering, and various ByteDance teams. You will manage a variety of complex, cross-functional programs and lead all aspects of assigned programs delivery. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining the Roadmap for the teams you work closely with, along with the respective Tech and Product leaders, and defining the way of driving these programs while constantly finding ways to improve the process in a data-driven manner.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end delivery of new products and features to market.
  • Manage a variety of complex, cross-functional programs.
  • Create and maintain the Roadmap for the teams.
  • Define the way of driving programs and improve processes.
  • Allocate resources efficiently.
  • Communicate with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Service Owners, and other XFN Teams.
  • Create Project Schedules, resourcing plans, and define Milestones.
  • Track tasks and report progress, creating and utilizing dashboards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, removing blockers.
  • Lead Agile/Scrum teams as a coach or scrum master.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or above with 3+ years of network project delivery or technical leadership background.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of public clouds, including switches and routers.
  • Effective communication skills to handle communications with teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • Experience working in multi-time zones and multi-culture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong understanding of Cloud Computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI).
  • Strong understanding of Colocations, Datacenters, and Carrier Hotels.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Direct experience with one of the major Cloud providers.
  • Experience with dashboards and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to read Engineering schematics and Network Diagrams.
