About the position

The AWS Utility Computing (UC) team is seeking an L5 Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support the development and management of various AWS services, including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, and Productivity Apps. This role focuses on new region and Local Zone build activities, ensuring the timely delivery of mandatory services in new regions. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple teams to design solutions, manage schedules, assess risks, and represent program status to senior leadership, all while maintaining a strong emphasis on work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and management of AWS services including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, and Productivity Apps.
  • Drive delivery of mandatory services in new AWS regions.
  • Collaborate with Service Teams, Infrastructure, and Business Development to design and deliver new AWS regions.
  • Work with Product Teams to design resource-efficient solutions.
  • Develop schedules to ensure timely launch of new regions.
  • Assess risks and anticipate issues during project execution.
  • Overcome technical obstacles and make trade-off decisions between business needs and technical constraints.
  • Represent program status to senior leadership and influence team decisions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 2+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of project management experience including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams and coordinating release schedules.
