Technical Project Manager/Scrum Master

About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager position will be focused on leading the successful planning, execution and delivery of projects, supporting multiple teams in Global Actuarial IT systems, requiring strong leadership skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired quality. As Senior Project Manager, this individual will be responsible for leading and overseeing multiple projects, ensuring successful delivery within budget and timeline, facilitating daily standup meetings, managing risks, and collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver high-value increments throughout the project lifecycle, while actively promoting continuous improvement and adapting to changing requirements within the team and organization; often requiring experience with Agile frameworks like Scrum and strong communication skills to guide teams towards optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and manage cross-functional project teams, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and motivating members to achieve project milestones.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, manage project scope, prioritize backlog items, and track progress against key metrics to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical leads to gather requirements, manage expectations.
• Communicate project status updates effectively to senior management, business owners, and technical teams, managing expectations and addressing concerns.
• Proactively identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to minimize impact on project success throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project performance, generate monthly management reports, including status updates, key metrics and performance insights.
• Actively identify and resolve roadblocks that hinder team progress, escalating issues to relevant parties when necessary.
• Perform production deployment approvals, create Service Now tickets for deployments, represent Actuarial systems in Change Approval Board meetings, serve as data steward for Change Management Database, handle SSL certifications.
• Work with technical and business team leads on completion of Building Permits, serve as an administrator for Actuarial Systems in JIRA and Clarity.
