About the position

VulcanForms has developed an extremely high throughput LPBF system and are preparing for the commercial scale-up to support existing and future customers. While making these commercial preparations, we continue to push the technology forward to the next groundbreaking milestones. The team is now looking for a Technical Project Manager to help drive multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initiation to deployment in our medical manufacturing environment. Their technical background will help quantitatively justify decisions, quickly grasp technical explanations, and scope engineering efforts. This person will work with and have an impact on almost every aspect of the company, from the shop floor to finance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and support multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initiation to completion
  • Provide a central coordination point between management and engineers
  • Be an interface between their projects and non-engineering functions within the company, including Supply Chain, Quality, Machine Build, & Finance, as well as with key suppliers
  • Develop and maintain requirements, schedules, cost estimates, testing plans, training documents, and design traceability documents

Requirements

  • 2+ years of engineering experience in a new product development environment
  • 2+ years of project management experience in a related area such as CNC machine building, capital equipment, factory set-up, or manufacturing operations
  • In-depth knowledge on project planning, project initiation, documentation, and reporting
  • Proven knowledge of system-level engineering processes
  • Proven ability to drive internal meetings with engineering teams and cross functional stakeholders

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP or comparable project management certification
  • Experience engineering additive manufacturing equipment, capital equipment, electro-mechanical devices, pneumatic assemblies, and/or precision equipment
  • Experience overseeing the build and commissioning of capital equipment
  • Experience in an industrial environment, preferably at a lean manufacturing facility
