About the position

As the Technical Sales Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for all products and manage customer requests, quotes, and inquiries. This role is crucial in providing a high level of service and technical support to exceed both internal and external customer expectations. You will work in a comprehensive team selling environment, collaborating with colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction and drive sales growth. The position is based in Germantown, WI, and offers a long-term career opportunity with extensive on-the-job training provided to the right candidate. In this role, you will interact with existing and potential customers through various communication channels, including telephone, email, and in-person meetings. Your responsibilities will include qualifying sales leads, creating and presenting quotations that emphasize the value-added features of our products, and following up with customers to secure orders. You will also be responsible for reviewing purchase orders for accuracy and coordinating with engineering or operations as needed. Meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets will be a key performance indicator for your success in this position. You will develop a thorough understanding of our product line, processes, and policies to effectively support customer requirements. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships will be essential, as you will need to overcome technical and business objections to win new business. Additionally, you will provide product demonstrations to qualified customers and keep account activities and literature up to date in collaboration with other sales team members. Customer visits may also be required to strengthen relationships and secure additional business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all products and manage customer requests, quotes, and inquiries.
  • Interact with existing and potential customers via telephone, email, or in person to qualify sales leads and sell products and services.
  • Create and present quotations to customers, emphasizing value-add features and explaining the benefits of selecting our product.
  • Follow up with customers on quotations to help obtain orders and discuss objections that may prevent order placement.
  • Proactively follow up with prospective new customers to generate sales.
  • Review purchase orders for proper model number, quantity, pricing, customer request date, and terms, coordinating special reviews with engineering or operations as needed.
  • Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets and goals.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of all products, processes, and policies to support and exceed customer requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of the customer base, market, and individual customer needs while building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers to win business.
  • Provide product demos to qualified customers on request.
  • Work with other sales team members to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Complete customer visits as needed and approved to build relationships and secure additional business.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineering sales.
  • Preferred Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Preferred analytical competencies and technical aptitude with respect to refrigeration, control engineering, and fluid dynamics.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Time management and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize urgent situations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
