About the position

The Technical Writer/Administrative Specialist will play a crucial role in providing technical writing and administrative support to the M26/Intelligence Enterprise Management Office (IEMO) at MCB Quantico, VA. This position requires a proactive individual who can create, edit, and maintain various forms of technical documentation, including user manuals, system documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather necessary information, ensuring that all technical content is accurate and accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences. The role also involves ensuring that sites and service diagrams are correctly formatted and integrated into the documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, system documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure accuracy of technical content.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure sites and service diagrams are formatted correctly and inserted.
  • Provide administrative support to senior staff including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence for internal and external distribution.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and databases to ensure efficient document management.
  • Review and revise documents for grammar, clarity, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Conduct quality checks on documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Proven experience as a technical writer or in a similar role, demonstrating strong writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in providing administrative support such as scheduling, correspondence management, and travel arrangements.
  • Proficiency in using document editing and publishing tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Defense or Government contracting environments.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or other document management systems.
  • Experience with graphics and illustration software for creating visual aids in documentation.
