About the position

CGS is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to provide consultative, analytical, and documentation support for a large Federal agency initiative. This role is essential in helping to solve the government's most dynamic problems with cutting-edge technology. The ideal candidate will be motivated, highly skilled, and creative, with a passion for contributing to government innovation and a strong appreciation for collaboration. The Technical Writer will work in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth through various learning opportunities. In this position, the Technical Writer will be responsible for drafting and developing technical documentation related to a variety of projects in the IT space. This includes working closely with project stakeholders to establish technical processes and procedures, documenting projects through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and providing status reports for multiple ongoing projects and related documentation efforts. The role also involves assisting with both user and admin level documentation, ensuring that all materials are clear, concise, and accessible to the intended audience. The successful candidate will possess excellent writing and communication skills, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the development of technical documentation and at least 3 years of experience in user documentation. Familiarity with industry-standard technical summary and reporting techniques, including Agile project management methodology, is essential. The ability to produce quality work independently or in a group setting is crucial, as is experience with the MS Office Suite, including Visio. Candidates must also be willing and able to pass a background check/security screening.

Responsibilities
