About the position

CGS is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to provide consultative, analytical, and documentation support for a large Federal agency initiative. This role is essential in helping to solve the government's most dynamic problems with cutting-edge technology. The Technical Writer will be responsible for drafting and developing technical documentation related to various IT projects, working closely with project stakeholders to establish technical processes and procedures. The position requires documenting projects through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and providing status reports for multiple ongoing projects and related documentation efforts. Additionally, the Technical Writer will assist with both user and admin level documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all users. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and communication skills, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing technical documentation and at least 3 years in user documentation. Familiarity with industry-standard technical summary and reporting techniques, including Agile project management methodology, is crucial. The ability to produce quality work independently or in a group setting is essential, as is proficiency with the MS Office Suite, including Visio. Candidates must also be willing and able to pass a background check/security screening.
