About the position

The Technical Writer III position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves the development and revision of technical publications related to aircraft systems. The role requires a strong understanding of technical data and the ability to translate complex engineering information into user-friendly content. The writer will collaborate with various teams to ensure the accuracy and quality of technical documents, while also contributing to process improvements and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical content using aircraft technical data with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct reviews and modifications of technical documents to understand complex aircraft system operations.
  • Provide training support on complex system operations and technical publications software.
  • Ensure department workflows and business processes are followed in collaboration with the publications team.
  • Engage with internal and external customers to develop source data that meets technical publication requirements.
  • Collaborate with Research and Development, Production, Completions Center, and Customer Support to develop and approve technical procedures.
  • Recommend process improvements to leadership to reduce costs and increase productivity.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of department styles, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Provide input on new processes or technology to enhance the Technical Publications business model.
  • Assist in resolving technical data challenges and implement special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of technical publications experience, including using industry standards for technical documents.
  • Knowledge of basic aircraft system methodology or equivalent technology.
  • Proficiency in computer technology/software and typing skills.
  • An A&P license and 4 years of related aircraft experience may offset the degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate/advanced experience in CAD software (e.g., Catia, Siemens Capital suite, Rapid Author).
  • Experience with platforms requiring EWIS compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering data, with experience in 3-D data.
