MicroHealth is seeking a Technical Writer with specialized experience in Section 508 technical writing to support the Electronic Health Record (EHR) modernization program. In this remote-based role, the Technical Writer will be responsible for reviewing and editing various project deliverables, including technical documents, policies, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), with a specific focus on ensuring compliance with Section 508 standards. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of accessibility standards and best practices, as well as the ability to produce high-quality documentation that meets the needs of diverse audiences. A typical day in this role will involve working on all phases of documentation, assisting in the preparation of documents, and supporting the development of contract deliverables and reports. The Technical Writer will review and edit content to ensure it meets Section 508 accessibility compliance, staying up to date on relevant standards. Responsibilities also include editing functional descriptions, user manuals, special reports, and other customer deliverables, conducting research, and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology. The role requires preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications, as well as preparing reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have 5+ years of experience specifically in 508 technical writing. The ability to travel up to 25% of the year may be required, and candidates must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance. Strong communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are essential for success in this role. Knowledge of federal documentation standards and processes, as well as Section 508 compliance, is also critical.
