About the position

We're searching for a Technical Writer/System Engineer to provide technical writing support in the development of ICAM products. This program will maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of our country's most important missions both at home and abroad. The candidate will work within the ZT ICAM team and with the existing ICAM capability teams to document release notes, installation and user guides, frameworks, SOPs, and plans, concept of operations, troubleshooting steps, and content for portal implementations. Other duties will include researching, documenting technical decisions, capturing meeting notes, establishing processes, and managing Confluence site. Provide technical expertise in industry standards, and federal and DoD policies. The candidate will also assist the software developers with tracking requirements, sprint planning, and scheduling, support to design changes, and testing support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical writing support to the ICAM/Zero Trust team.
  • Support the development of ICAM products to support Zero Trust security implementations.
  • Document release notes, installation and user guides, frameworks, SOPs, and plans.
  • Create concept of operations, troubleshooting steps, and content for portal implementations.
  • Research and document technical decisions.
  • Capture meeting notes and establish processes.
  • Manage Confluence site and other documentation platforms.
  • Provide technical expertise in industry standards, federal and DoD policies.
  • Assist software developers with tracking requirements and sprint planning.
  • Support design changes and testing.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of experience as a System Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Experience with researching to align technical implementation to NIST and government standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly translate technical concepts, architecture, and design concepts into written documentation.
  • Experience managing wiki sites, blogs, XML/HTML, Confluence, and JIRA content.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task and work independently with minimum supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with software development methodologies.
  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams to capture content for documentation.
  • Experience developing briefings and documents for senior-level management.
  • Demonstrated engineering experience on programs with requirements, functional analysis, and allocation.
